Medicare Advantage Plans
Medicare Advantage plans, usually HMO or PPO products, combine the benefits of Parts A and B. In most cases, these insurance plans include prescription drug coverage and may include extra benefits and services, like routine hearing, vision, and dental coverage.
Supplemental Coverage (Medigap Plans)
Many people who are covered by Original Medicare purchase a separate Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan to help “fill the gap†— by partially or fully covering the 20% of approved healthcare costs that Parts A and B do not pay. With these plans, you have access to ANY hospital or physician that accepts Medicare in any state!
Prescription Drug Coverage
Original Medicare doesn’t cover prescription drugs, but you can enroll in a separate Part D plan. Many Advantage plans already offer prescription drug coverage as part of their benefits package.
