Using Our Self Enrollment Tool!

If you’re ready to enroll in a Medicare plan, ReLion is here to help. Here’s what you need to know before enrolling.

Ready to Enroll? Let’s Get Started.

  • First, make sure you’re eligible for Original Medicare. Once you turn 65 years old or receive 24 months of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), you’re eligible to enroll. If you’ve already been retired for at least 4 months, you’ll be automatically enrolled. If not, all you have to do is contact your local Social Security office. From there, you can enroll in other Medicare coverage.
  • You must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B before you’re eligible for any other Medicare coverage.
  • Enrollment is easier with help! If you have questions at any point during self-enrollment, call ReLion Insurance Solutions at 858-999-2858.

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage, or Medicare Part C, is one of the most common Medicare coverage options out there. It combines Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) coverage into one plan. Then, it coordinates your coverage for a lower overall out-of-pocket cost.

How your coverage is coordinated depends on the plan you choose. You have four main options — Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans, Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans, Private Fee-For-Service (PFFS) plans, and Special Needs Plans (SNPs).

Advantage plans often include extra benefits. This could include prescription drug coverage, limited dental, vision, and hearing care, travel assistance to appointments, and more.

Medicare Part D

You can purchase a Medicare Part D plan alongside your Original Medicare coverage. You cannot have both Medicare Advantage and Part D at the same time — instead, if you want the benefits of both plans, you can enroll in an Advantage plan with Part D benefits included.

Each Part D plan covers different prescriptions at different price points. The formulary of your plan determines what types of drugs are covered, so be sure to choose one with your prescriptions included. Then, make sure you know your budget, and choose the plan that best fits it and your medical needs.
